How to get to the Arc de Triomphe

The fastest and most convenient way to reach the Arc de Triomphe is by metro, with the closest station being Charles de Gaulle – Étoile, offering direct access via underground tunnels. Metro Line 1 runs through major landmarks like the Louvre, Champs-Élysées, and La Défense, making it a great option for tourists. Metro Line 2 connects Porte Dauphine to Nation, serving northern Paris, while Metro Line 6 provides a scenic route that includes Trocadéro (Eiffel Tower) and Montparnasse. After exiting at Charles de Gaulle – Étoile, be sure to use the underground passage to reach the Arc de Triomphe safely—do not attempt to cross the roundabout on foot.

Visitors can also walk to the site in 10 minutes from the Champs-Élysées or 15 minutes from Trocadéro. 

For those driving, limited street parking is available nearby, with the closest garage being Indigo Parking Wagram-Champs-Élysées (€6/hour). 

Ride-sharing services like Uber or Bolt can drop guests at the pedestrian tunnel entrance on the Champs-Élysées for direct access.

Taking the bus is a convenient way to reach the Arc de Triomphe, with several RATP bus lines stopping nearby. The closest stop is Charles de Gaulle – Étoile, just a short walk from the entrance. Bus 22 connects Porte de Saint-Cloud to Opéra, making it ideal for travelers from western Paris. Bus 30 runs between Porte de Saint-Cloud and Pigalle, passing through Trocadéro, while Bus 31 links Charles de Gaulle – Étoile with Gare de l’Est. Another option is Bus 92, which travels from Porte de Champerret to Gare Montparnasse, stopping at key landmarks along the way. Once you arrive, use the underground pedestrian tunnels to safely access the Arc de Triomphe—do not cross the roundabout on foot.
